Case Two
I wanted to relay our satisfaction
with the performance of AstroCosmos with regards to the 10
vertical Hastelloy process condensers recently purchased for
our organic synthesis pilot plant.
While your pricing was very competitive
on these units, upon completion of evaluations, we initially
planned to purchase from another source, primarily due to
the easier travel for pre-shipment inspection at their factory.
However, some delays occurred in our project, and when we
were ready to place the order, that supplier could not meet
our delivery date. We were certainly relieved when AstroCosmos
was able to meet our tight timelines and actually delivered
ahead of schedule.
The quality of these condensers
was excellent. The welding is superb. I suppose I should have
expected this based on the prior tantalum units we have purchased.
Our inspector was very much impressed with the Quality Control
Systems in place at your manufacturing facility. His direct
quotes describe this well:

in all respects. Material and document control was well executed.
Even with each condenser in a different state of manufacture,
there was never a question of where each was physically located

Case Three

Case Four
AstroCosmos is still on the equipment/vessel
fabrication approved vendor list for the Rhône-Poulenc
Ag. Co., Institute WV Plant. The MIC production facility (157800
department) has worked with AstroCosmos on several projects.
Examples of work include large
(1500ft2) heat exchangers with tantalum tubes and tantalum
clad tube sheets, a large (70' tall, 1 1/2' OD) residue treating
column lined with tantalum, Hastelloy® C-22 re-boiler
heads and tantalum quench nozzles for an incinerator.

Case Five
This column was fabricated at
AstroCosmos' Metallurgical shop facilities in Wooster, Ohio.
During the several inspections I made at this location, I
found their engineering organization and fabrication facilities
did meet or exceed BASF's zirconium welding and fabrication
requirements.
The fabrication shop facilities
have very precise welding procedures, with fully qualified
fabricators/welders. The fabrication tolerances used in the
AstroCosmos shop meet or exceed BASF prerequisites.
AstroCosmos design engineering
department is a willing partner in the construction of vessels
at this facility, always fully informed of vessel status including
any design changes required by the owner.
This particular vendor is certainly
one which should be considered for an Alliance Contract for
any future specialty alloy fabrication.
